Various Volkswagen Samba Bus,from 1948 to 2013!
(A picture speaks louder than a thousand words!)
(Imagine having one parked down in the Southland?)
(That's how the latest versions of the Volkswagen T2 looked until it went out of production in 2013 in Brazil)
I remember one time in 1993 when I was just 5 years old, I made a good buddy at the campsite in Tromsø. He could tell that I was already really into cars and enjoyed talking about them with me. The man actually owned an old Volkswagen Caravelle camper, Type 2 (T2).
Interestingly enough, this car was produced until the following year, in 1994 in Mexico, and all the way until 2013 in Brazil, a whole 20 years later. It would have been awesome if some sort of import of these newer versions of these cars had made it to Norway.
Type 1 was produced until 1975 in Brazil and has been known as the Volkswagen Samba Bus on the American continent. You can pimp out these cars to be something really cool to have at the beach or with.
This is a Volkswagen Samba commercial for Coca Cola. This hippie-bus is really popular to use in commercial and promotion these days.
