Trabant 1957-1991!

Trabant is a car that rolled out of Germany's factories until '91. Now, you could pimp this ride with a surfboard or a picnic basket on the roof, or just straight-up style it and drop in a mean Audi engine. Trabant, mind you, was mostly churned out in the '60s and '70s, a far cry from the days of today's fancy environmental buzz, but hey, they did have a recyclable cotton body.

Volkswagen scooped up Trabant around '90. Right after, the assembly line came to a halt, but nowadays, it's Volkswagen holding the rights. I reckon they've flirted with the idea of kickin' the production back into gear every now and then.

By the way, Trabant made a cameo in a TV show called 'The Mystery of the Living Corpse' that aired on norwegian  channel named NRK. Back when I was a kid, I was more into Trabant than the mystery, I tell ya!"
