Jeep Wrangler & Chevrolet Tahoe/Gmc Yukon

Now, the Jeep Wrangler is a ride you can take to the beach and reel in a bunch of ladies, especially if it's the convertible version. Petter Stordalen, known for his fat wallet, supposedly kept a Jeep Wrangler long after he could afford any fancy sports car.

Gotta give you a heads up, though - these rides can burn a hole in your pocket. They guzzle down gas and diesel like there's no tomorrow, and the taxes and repair costs can hit you hard. So, you might wanna think twice 'bout the quality. I know a true-blue redneck over in Sundvollen rockin' a Chevrolet Tahoe. With a rig that pricey, he better watch out for avoidin' the luxury trap!

Now, the GMC Yukon is pretty much the same deal as the Chevrolet Tahoe. By the way, it was one of them most-used rides by the Baywatch crew.

American Motors Corporations (AMC) teamed up with Jeep to build the Wrangler model. Personally, I reckon the AMC version is hands down the coolest! There's just somethin' 'bout that golden AMC emblem that grabs my attention."

Hyundai Galloper/Mitsubishi Pajero!

(The Galloper version of the Pajero was produced with an 80s design all the way until 1997. You can import this from overseas, and it can be decked out with a winch, wide tires, and lights in the grille.) (Back in the early '80s, folks on the homesteads were drivin' Mitsubishi Pajeros like that. The grille looks a lot like my old man's Mazda) Hyundai Galloper and Mitsubishi Pajero , rolling since 1982 and rocking that '80s design until '97. Mitsubishi Pajero, a beast of a car that I've always seen as a ghostly presence from the days of high cigar-fueled swagger in the '80s, with all those yuppies and whatnot. I remember a girl in elementary school, a few years older, whose mom cruised around in a Mitsubishi Pajero. She was a doctor in the local clinic, living the good life. Pivco City Bee, Think City, Buddy Electric and Kewet Buddy!

Well, shoot, these cars might've been the ones I oughta kicked off this blog with, considerin' we're talkin' about Norwegian rides and brands cooked up right here in Norway. First laid eyes on a Pivco City Bee back in '95 at Hunderfossen, but reckon the first time was on that Newton kids' show on NRK back in the early '90s. Our own Morten Harket, bless his heart, supposedly snagged himself one of them cars, maybe just to breeze through them toll booths for free? Either way, it turned into a solid PR stunt for them two Norwegian brands, Harket and Pivco City Bee. Pivco City Bee supposedly hit the scene in the early '90s. By '94, the first proper prototypes were supposedly ready, just in time for the Lillehammer Olympics. Toyota Hiace MK5 and MK6

Y'see them Toyotas in them first two snaps? Well, they were the last of their breed to roll off the lots in the West. Production came to a screechin' halt 'cause of that Japan nuclear plant mishap. Them rides were a hit in places like Finland, the British Isles, Sweden, and Norway. And Norway was the final stop on the European tour before the curtain dropped on this model. "Now, them Toyota Hiace Mk5 and Mk6, well, they're just plain cool for gettin' sideways. You can whip 'em 'round with either four-wheel or rear-wheel drive. And if you're feelin' fancy, you can spruce 'em up with some '80s chrome tail fins, tinted windows, extra lights, and a dangly wünderbaum. The other Hiace you see there, well, it kept on truckin' till 'round 2018-2019, albeit abroad."
