Toyota Hiace MK4 & South African; Toyota Hiace MK3!
(Toyota HiAce MK4)
(Toyota HiAce MK5, South African version, built on the MK3)
That there's a Toyota HiAce MK5, the South African version, built on the MK3. Now, look at the rig in the top picture, it's a Toyota Hiace MK4. Reminds me of my elementary school days when I had a teacher from Kristiansand. That fella and a buddy of his and another classmate headed over to Eastern Europe for some charity work for them poor kids. And what did they roll up in? A two-year-old white Toyota Hiace '96 model. Bless their hearts for the good intentions, but I couldn't help but rib 'em for the choice of wheels. I mean, look at this model – even though it's from '96, it looks way older than it is!
Now, picture number 2, that's a Toyota Hiace Commuter, a South African twist on the Toyota Hiace, based on the MK3 model. If my old teacher had one of those instead, well, I'd have to give him an even harder time!
I tell you what, if you manage to import one of those, you could be cruising around like you're part of the Portuguese mafia (just like I ran into back in '98 with my family on the Algarve coast) or tearing up the streets like a true Touareg warrior gang from the Sahara!
P.S. South Africa might be a ways off, but I reckon you could bring one in from the Mediterranean countries or maybe even parking.eu. Worth a shot, I reckon.
