Peugeot 605

Bilde
' Peugeot 605 , now that's a cool car! My uncle had both versions, the first-gen from '89 to '94 in a '92 model (or maybe '91, but close enough), and the second-gen from '95 to 2000 in a '95 model. The first one, technically from '91, was practically a '92, considering it got registered in December. Funny thing is, its license plate was almost the same as my home phone number. Small world, huh? And let's not forget the starring role in the French film classic, especially for us car enthusiasts, Taxi 2 from '98. Now, between the two, I gotta say, my uncle's '95 model takes the cake. Fast, roomy, and comfy—what more could you ask for? Although, I bet it didn't quite match up to the comfort level of the Peugeot Limo made for the French president, Jacques Chirac, back in the day. That's a whole other level of luxury!

Citroen XM

Citroen XM was one heck of a car back in its day, with that fancy hydropneumatic suspension and extra comfy ride that made it handle curves like a dream. These cars could lower and raise themselves dependin' on the terrain and curves. There was also a badass version called the Citroen XM Musketie r, and even a special one for the French president called the "presidential limousine." I remember ridin' with my uncle long after the Citroen XM and Peugeot 605 were outta production. Uncle was drivin' a Volvo XC90 by then, but he used to drive a Peugeot 605 Turbo some 10-15 years earlier, which was Peugeot's flagship, kinda like Citroen's. The Citroen XM came with some serious engines too, includin' hefty 2.9 and 3-liter V6 gasoline engines with 24 valves, as well as a 2-liter turbo gasoline and a 2.5-liter turbo diesel . Uncle would go on 'bout that Citroen XM Presidential Limousine made special for the French president, sayin' he'd have love...

Suzuki Jimny

Bilde
The Suzuki Jimny , a blast from the '80s that kept rocking that design until 1997. Now, my preschool teacher with a need for speed had one back in the early 2000s, living down the road from me. Fast forward to today, and my former colleague, still tearing up the streets, rolls in a red Suzuki Jimny. Sure, it's not the '80s design, but the 2000s version. But come on, as a true street racer, you gotta stick with the pre-1998, even better, the '97 model. Same guy apparently still drives a blue Suzuki Jimny, unfortunately still the 2000 model from back when I first met him. He tried to introduce me to modern techno, but nope, not my style! Give me some bass-heavy '90s rave and a forest to go off-roading in any day, right? Who needs that modern stuff anyway! :-)

Renault Trafic mk1 & Renault Master!

Bilde
First gen Renault Trafic got made up till 'bout 2000, with that 90s look but runnin' on 50s guts and drivin' feel. We used it as a work truck back in high school, and it could only muster 40-50 kilometers an hour up Lierbakkene. It was so bad we had to crawl along in the slow lane meant for big ol' rigs weighin' thirty times as much! Now, that ain't exactly a boast for this here truck, especially considerin' its horsepower ain't much to write home about. But ya can get the Renault Trafic MK1 as a 4x4, and it's easy to trick it out with a bull bar like in the picture, and probably a whole lot more. Even though it's real slow, it's got a beefy diesel engine. It can haul real heavy loads and is tough as nails. The engine's either 2.1 or 2.5 liters of diesel, though no turbo on it. We took our school truck, a 1994 Renault Trafic MK1, to see what it could do, and it tapped out around 160 kilometers an hour comin' down from Asker center. ...
