These here cars are a type of multi-purpose vehicle comin' outta the USA. A little over 20 years ago, I took a spin and test drove a Pontiac Trans Sport. We hit a snag with one of them seats that was supposed to be easy to rearrange, seein’ as this was a multi-purpose rig. In the end, we didn’t buy it, and later on, I kicked myself for it, thinkin' it was a real badass American ride with a mean V6 engine and sporty features from Pontiac. The Pontiac Trans Sport was the only Pontiac that ever really made waves in Norway in modern times.
When I was a kid, I saw a bunch of these rides over in Sweden. But there’s one Pontiac Trans Sport I’ll never forget—it shot past us like a bat outta hell, swervin' between oncoming cars! The driver was an old speed demon, well up in years, and his kinda fancy wife looked like she was tryin' to calm him down, which was clearly too late. He was drivin' like he was a getaway driver on the lam. A few kilometers later, we spotted him at a gas station, so I guess he’d burned through his tank. My mom asked, ‘What’s he all worked up about?’ And yeah, you can’t help but wonder when he’s drivin' like such a wild man.

I saw a whole bunch of Renault Espaces over in Sweden back in the ‘90s. They never really made a splash in Norway, though. But get this—back in 2004, the British show Top Gear had a race with two Renault Espaces goin’ up against a Toyota Previa, a Nissan Serena, a Mitsubishi Space Wagon, and a Toyota MasterAce. Would ya believe it, the Renault Espaces snagged first and second place!
‘You can deck out a Renault Espace or a 1996 Pontiac Trans Sport with some real 80s chrome, a raccoon tail, and a Wünderbaum, and you’ll be the top dog of the cruising scene!
